After receiving some price shock therapy on buying a gas water pump, I decided to come up with a pump anyone and everyone could use.

First I tried using an existing pump...from a car. This type of pump was unsuitable for a number of reasons:

- Too heavy

- Too hard to convert for our use

- Sometimes too hard to find the right pump

- Too hard to join water hoses for our purposes.

What I was looking for was an inexpensive pump to make and use. I could join a simple 2.5 or 3.5 horizontal shaft Briggs motor to it.

What I came up with was a very simple pump to make.

- No machining

- No sealed bearings to worry about

- Easy to make

- CHEAP to produce

- It could link up to almost any gas motor

- Was easy to service - if needed
