I am please to announce that Gold Mining Consulting is now available for those miners requiring additional help when trying to locate or extract placer gold. With the new Gold Rush that has been occurring since 2009 - 2010, there has been on overwhelming need for good concrete advice for finding and extracting placer gold. I can also offer some pointers with hard rock mining but my expertise is in gold deposits that have been deposited by water. This would include high benched, ancient riverbeds, rivers, streams, caves, extinct water ways, false bedrock, real bedrock, waterfalls, desert locations, stratified deposits and somewhat deeply buried gold. I have over 30 years experience in finding and recovering gold. My mining experience started when I was quite young and I had the opportunity to learn from some of the best old time prospectors. It seems like this sage old wisdom has largely been forgotten with time. These early prospectors were happy to share their knowledge but few others seemed to want to learn. The prospectors were surprised when I took a strong interest in their mining activities and thought I would only have a passing interest, but time showed them I was a very apt student eager to learn all their tricks. It is a combination of this knowledge coupled with modern mining techniques that allow me to find gold where others can't. I rely on nature to show me the way. This included even when an area has been torn apart by machinery. The surrounding hills and mountains are silent witnesses to all the gold activity that has happened over many millennia. In most cases the stream or river bed has been torn apart. I try not to look at anything specific but first focus on the shape of the valley followed by any vegetation that might be growing on the valley sides. Next I will sample pan overturned tailing piles. I want to see how much black sand and fine gold there is as well as the color of the rock which can indicate if this material has been pulled off bedrock. There is a blackened shadow type of look for a lot of aggregates sitting on bedrock. This is because of oxidation of black sand and other oxidized concentrates held there for thousands of years. Garnets can be a real plus too depending on the type. There are lots of good gold signs to watch for most of which I leaned from those old prospectors. All this information tell me how to tackle the area I am working. Anyway this is supposed to be a brief introduction to my knowledge and some of the gold signs I look for when doing consulting. Gold mining is neither cut and dry or simple as nature can constantly throw curve balls at you. We just want the golden reward hidden underneath.
