Gold Recovery Gas Water Pump

Ever try to find an affordable gas water pump for your sluice box? Most of the time we can use the water flow from the stream, but if we are using an elevated classifier or working a high bench, we need water where our gold equipment is. More importantly, a reliable, cheap pump that uses a simple four cycle 3.5 hp Briggs lawnmower engine would be great.

After receiving some price shock therapy on buying a gas water pump, I decided to come up with a pump anyone and everyone could use.

First I tried using an existing pump...from a car. This type of pump was unsuitable for a number of reasons:

- Too heavy

- Too hard to convert for our use

- Sometimes too hard to find the right pump

- Too hard to join water hoses for our purposes.

What I came up with were two very simple pumps to make.

Both are made from PVC. One is a general purpose medium pressure delivery unit. The other is designed for high water flow.

I realize these pumps can be used for all sorts of watering needs. They are simple and cheap to make. Designed for gold mining, namely sluice boxes and high bench work.
